After consulting with his partner Les, Don hires Dusty. Don and Mona dig up Dusty's corpse and go to the place where the gang lives. While Mona is trying to hide body parts in the freezer, Freeman comes home with his girlfriend. Mona mortally wounds Freeman, stabs and kills his girlfriend, and shortly calls the police to report a disturbance at the house.

That definitely unravels for her pretty quickly and I actually liked seeing her work through all of the emotions of her homecoming and re-connecting with her old flame. I felt like it added to the build-up of the story and gives you a sense of how she’s changing as events keep escalating and how much it is affecting her. On March 26, 2013, it was reported that Katherine Heigl and Patrick Wilson had signed on for Darko Entertainment's dark comedy North of Hell. The storyline revolves around a well-to-do businessman , who is used to having things his own way, but appears to be helpless at the hands of his domineering wife . The perfect introduction to the Dark Paths series, Home Sweet Hell is a perfect mixture of second chance romance with a little bit of horror sprinkled on top. What I loved most about the book was the long-time friendship between Shea and Chloe because it was real and sometimes gritty. The two women no doubt support each other and are close as sisters, but they’re also not afraid to call each other out. The author put together a story with a heartfelt romance that had me cheering from the beginning. The slow burn was fantastic and the build up was done really well.

The police decided that Murphy and Benji were responsible for the murders. His detail-oriented wife Mona has everything planned according to the book of her goals. One day an attractive young woman named Dusty applies for a sales job at Don's store. Don and Mona dig out the body of Dusty and go to the place where the gang lives. Murphy also discovers parts of Dusty in the freezer and realizes he has been set up. The police decide that Murphy and Benji were responsible for the murders.

Don Champagne seems to have it all, but when his wife, Mona, learns of his affair with a pretty new salesgirl, she will stop at nothing to maintain their storybook life. Ivy Whitaker takes us on a ride along with the main character Shea as she returns to her hometown of Verbank to care for her ailing father.

Jim Belushi also shows up, for what it’s worth, as Don’s boorish colleague. Meanwhile, it is revealed, that Dusty is actually the abused girlfriend of a criminal named Murphy (A.J. Buckley) and she is lying to Don about the pregnancy. Don offers Dusty $13,000, which she refuses, telling Don that it will not be enough. Don is not sure whether Dusty will keep her mouth shut, and Les advises him to tell Mona the truth before she finds it out from Dusty. Don confesses to Mona and she demands that Don kill Dusty.
In the end, Home Sweet Hell is neither an adequate black comedy nor a good slasher film. So when Don hires a pretty new salesgirl Dusty , it’s easy to understand why he falls for her out-of-the-blue seduction. When Dusty tells Don she’s pregnant and needs money for medical care, Don confesses his transgressions to Mona, who becomes completely unhinged. Mona insists that murder is the only answer to keep their perfect life together. Mona Champagne scrapbooks obsessively, imagining herself into a perfect life with the perfect house and yard and family.

I hated the way he kept things from her and is still keeping things from her. However, that makes things interesting for the next one. Other than that, I loved his protective side and I cannot wait for things to spice up. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Married to milquetoasty business owner Don , Mona is an OCD sufferer with structurally perfect blond hair, flawless makeup and a poisonous personality. The film stars Katherine Heigl, Patrick Wilson, Jordana Brewster, Kevin McKidd, A.J. Buckley, Chi McBride, and Jim Belushi. Mona and Don’s seemingly perfect suburban bliss is disrupted by a sexy extortionist and Mona will stop at nothing, including killing the competition, to keep her little slice of heaven. I feel like he has a lot of things that he doesn't share, intentionally or not, and I wanted to shake the secrets out of him through the entire book. And, while it may have been difficult to see her and Shea not see eye-to-eye on the frightening ghostly happenings, I appreciated that conflict as a bit of an extra layer to the story.
Skeletons that reached out to her from the dark, beckoning her to look deeper into the shadows. She stalks around wearing bright rubber gloves, smiling brightly, trying to clean up various bloody messes, all while bitching at Don about how incompetent he is. Heigl has had her troubles with her public image, and Mona will not help with that, but the actress is actually doing some funny and scary stuff. The woman is a total psychopath, and Heigl commits to that.
Patrick Wilson mainly seems uncomfortable, a deer in the headlights, and Jim Belushi dispenses terrible advice from the sidelines. The film also stars Kevin McKidd, of Grey's Anatomy. "Gotta say North of Hell cast and crew look pretty awesome! Be warned, I don't look like myself in this movie—in a bad/good way", he was reported saying on Twitter. Home Sweet Hell was a Limited release in 2015 on Friday, March 13, 2015.
I could literally picture every minute detail as it was happening which, to me, is always a great sign of amazing writing. Murphy and his friends, Freeman and Benji , discover Dusty is missing, and suspect that something went wrong and attack Les. Murphy also threatens Don by leaving his son a letter, in which he demands a meeting at a strip club.
